Vice President, Quality Improvement and Clinical Support Services

May-Britt Sten, MSN, RN-BC
Manager, Process Improvement

The Performance Improvement (PI) Department supports the priorities defined for quality to advance the mission, vision and strategic plan at Children’s. The PI staff work with interdisciplinary teams and individuals to improve quality and safety for patients and families. This includes consultation, coordination, facilitation, education, and ongoing enhancement of the quality program and accreditation and licensure standards. The PI Department collects and analyzes data to support quality initiatives and quality control functions. The staff educates and communicates Children’s PI methodology to the organization and orients new employees and management staff to the Quality Program. Additionally, the Department oversees the continuous survey readiness process related to regulatory and accreditation standards compliance for the hospital.
